Celebrating Pluralism in Action: Spotlight on the 2021 Global Pluralism Award Finalists

The Global Centre for Pluralism was invited to partner with the Embassy of Canada in the United Arab Emirates to host an event at Expo 2020 Dubai celebrating the 2021 Global Pluralism Award finalists during the UAE Tolerance & Inclusivity Week.

On November 20th, Puja Kapai (Hong Kong), Omaid Sharifi (ArtLords, Afghanistan), Miloš Golubović  (Community Building Mitrovica, Kosovo) and Trésor Nzengu Mpauni (Malawi) joined Meredith Preston McGhie, Secretary General of the Global Centre for Pluralism, to speak on their work promoting pluralism and the challenges they have faced, as well as the strategies they have used to overcome them.

This interactive hybrid event hosted at the Canadian Pavilion featured four of the ten finalists for the 2021 Global Pluralism Award, representing a range of countries, sectors and approaches. The event showcased the variety of ways in which pluralism can be advanced providing inspiring examples that can inform the work of other champions of pluralism around the world.
